Bob the Builder is a British-American preschool children's television program created by Keith Chapman In 1998. An American dub of Bob the Builder was created in 2000 to air on Nickelodeon's Nick Jr block. In late 2004, Nick Jr lost rights to the show and PBS Kids acquired the rights to it, the show starting airing it in that year on the channel, and kept airing it until around late 2015, when the original series was replaced with a separate revamped version with realistic designs.

In late 2018, PBS Kids discontinued broadcasting the show, replacing it with Let's Go Luna!. The show officially made its move to Qubo in 2019 and stayed there until early 2021. However in 2023, It returned to US television on BabyFirst even though it only aired Ready, Steady, Build!.

When the original series was removed in November 14, 2015, it became the last PBS children’s program on TV to use the Fishbowl ID.
